About Me

Hi There!

I'm Christina McCleary. Over the years I've found a lot of joy in cooking, traveling, and gardening. I have also found a lot of joy in sharing what I've learned and helping others.

A little bit about me. I was born and raised in Iowa. We're flyover country to a lot of people, but there is a hidden beauty here. I attended college at the University of Northern Iowa. During college, I met my husband working at the local Taco John's. A true love story as we've been together almost a decade now. We live in Des Moines, IA with our dog and new baby. I'm an Executive Administrative Assistant at Des Moines Performing Arts, and my husband is a Mechanical/Simulation Engineer, so opposites really do attract. We love exploring what the world has to offer whether that's picking up a new skill, traveling to a new place, or trying a new cuisine. The world is full of so many things to explore, so why not try them together?

So what can you expect at the Garden and Grub? At the core, I'll be sharing my knowledge on cooking, traveling and gardening. I'm a regular person and I think that if I can do things, so can you. Ask questions, offer advice, it's all welcome here!
